The "campfire themed" event began with a cookout dinner supported by Plainville Community Schools’ Food Services Director Mike Koch, and  featuring donations from several local organizations including Saint's Restaurant, Gnazzos, and Frankie's, together with  a read aloud story by Principal Paula Eshoo, and a variety of activity tables. Following were "literacy rotations" with a focus on writing activities, vocabulary, and fluency facilitated by the visiting CCSU students. The event was coordinated by Dr. Valeri, the CCSU reading clinicians and Linden staff members Tahlya Stevenson, Susan Stoker and Melissa Orfitelli, who plan to make this an annual event, and expand partnership opportunities between Linden and CCSU.
