Plainville High School Student Recognized By National Merit Scholarship Program

Plainville High School senior Cohen Blake has been named a “Commended Student” in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program.

 According to the National Merit  Scholarship Corporation, approximately 34,000 Commended Students across the country are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Plainville High School Principal, Jennifer DeLorenzo, and Assistant, Principal Kelly Hickey, presented a Letter of Commendation to Cohen on September 21st.

Recognizing student accomplishments is something we take great pride in, at PHS. In this case, Cohen is being recognized for his accomplishments on the School PSAT Day  that was taken during October, 2022. I know I am joined by all of Cohen’s teachers when I say congratulations on a job well done and thank you for making PHS proud,” said DeLorenzo.

The Plainville Community Schools is extremely proud and congratulates Cohen on being recognized as one of the nation’s top students,” noted Interim Superintendent of Schools, Kevin D. Case.
