The Plainville Community Schools Preschool Program will begin accepting registrations on Monday, April 2, 2018 for children who reside in Plainville with parents or guardians, who will be age 4 by December 31, 2018 and who were born between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014.

PHS Dattco Internship

Dattco representatives visited Plainville High School to speak with students about their internship and apprenticeship programs this year. Currently, three Plainville High School graduates are participating in the apprenticeship program and two graduating seniors will participate in the internship program. In addition, a group of Plainville High School students recently participated in a field trip to Dattco to explore the field of diesel mechanics.

District Hosts Annual Volunteer Recognition Program

Plainville Community Schools’ annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner and Awards Program was held on May 10th, at Plainville High School. This year's theme was “Country Hoedown.” More than 100 school volunteers, Board of Education members, administrators and staff were present to enjoy an evening of food, friends, and recognition.

Everyday Heroes

Plainville High School's School Psychologist Jeri Lynn Turkowitz and Middle School of Plainville Physical Education teacher Amy Tennant were recognized as the district's Everyday Heroes for the month of April for their work with the Plainville High School's Unified Basketball Team. They were nominated by Kimberly Shumbo, and were honored at the April 16th Plainville Board of Education meeting.
