Plainville Community Schools is seeking community feedback regarding the school district’s progress on strategic plan goals, and will once again utilize “Thoughtexchange” - a short, simple, web based information gathering tool, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett. The district initially used Thoughtexchange in 2016 to gather stakeholder feedback to inform the strategic planning process at that time.

District To Host School Business Community Partnership Breakfast Event

The Plainville Community Schools Preschool Program will begin accepting registrations on Monday, March 1, 2019 for children who reside in Plainville and will be age four (4) by December 31, 2019 and who were born between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2015.

Jennifer DeLorenzo Named Assistant Principal At Plainville High School

)  Plainville High School Mathematics teacher and Instructional Leader Jennifer DeLorenzo, has been named an assistant principal, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett. DeLorenzo replaces former Plainville High School Assistant Principal Carl Johnson, who became principal in November.

Plainville Schools Receive Security Grant from Schaller Auto Group

Plainville Community Schools recently received a grant from the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain to improve high school security. The grant was used to purchase 23 additional security cameras at Plainville High School. The grant was funded by the Schaller Auto group.

Welcome to the Superintendent’s Spotlight! In this section, Dr. Brummett will highlight (via video) a variety of programs, initiatives, and projects happening throughout Plainville Community Schools.
 

Louis Toffolon Elementary School art teacher Mike Zaba was honored as a recipient of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award on January 23rd at a surprise recognition program assembly held at Toffolon School. The program was attended by several state and local dignitaries, including Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, and Commissioner of Education, Dr. Dianna Wentzell, who served as speakers during the program. Zaba is the only award winner from Connecticut this year, and is among 33 honorees across the country for the 2018-19 school year. As part of the award package, he received an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize and membership in the National Milken Educator Network.
