The Middle School of Plainville’s VEX Robotics Program, led by Advisor Camille Westfall, hosted the 10th annual VEX IQ state championship on March 18th. Fifteen teams competed in the elementary school division held in the cafeteria, and 55 teams competed in the middle school division in the gym. Seven Middle School of Plainville teams were entered, and three advanced to the finals. The Plainville team of Raman and Siamion Kasabrukhau won both the Teamwork Champions Award and the Robot Skills Award. Both awards earn an invitation to the VEX World event to be held at the end of April in Texas. This team was the only one in the state to double qualify for VEX Worlds.
