Frank T. Wheeler Elementary School’s Student Council members, led by advisor Sarah Miller, marked Earth Day on April 23rd by preparing and sharing presentations to every Wheeler class on the importance of Earth Day and recycling. They also read each Wheeler class a book entitled, A Recycling Adventure to the Scrapyard. Last year the Wheeler Student Council partnered with the HW Green Company to host a school-wide recycling project, and Student Council members read the book The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans. This year, HW Green sent the group members the follow-up book to share with classes, and the Student Council members developed presentations focused on the importance of recycling and how it helps our planet.
