District Supervisor of EL, Equity and Student Support, Lily Cornielle and Bilingual faculty member Gloribel Barreto-Ramirez recently delivered a presentation entitled “Beyond the Classroom: Building Trust and Leadership through Home Visits for Multilingual Learners” at the 2025 Connecticut Family & Community Engagement Conference in Rocky Hill, Connecticut. Their presentation provided an overview of the “home visit “ model for multilingual learners developed by the PCS Multilingual Learner Department team, including the impact of authentic home visits on student motivation and school relationships, engaging families as co-leaders and advocates for strong student success, and exploring tools for beginning /expanding family-school partnerships beyond traditional structures!
