The Plainville school district is launching several branding updates with the implementation of a district-wide style guide and building enhancements, according to Superintendent of Schools, Steven LePage.
Plainville Community Schools has been working for several months on a rebranding initiative, with the most recent enhancements including updated logos, articulated district and school colors, updated and streamlined mascot images, and more, that will be rolled out through a comprehensive style guide developed for Plainville Community Schools to reinforce a common identity with the local and broader community.
The style guide project, created in partnership with the Option A Group, a professional design and marketing firm, is part of the focus on enhancing branding across the school district. The style guide will serve as the framework and guidelines for district branding components including print collateral, signage, letterhead, athletics equipment, school merchandise, and more.
Additionally, several initial visual branding updates have been implemented at Plainville High School including exterior signage, exterior flags that highlight the district’s Portrait of the Graduate characteristics, and illuminated signage and logos within the high school. Additional visual branding enhancements are planned for Plainville High School and all district schools in the coming months, utilizing the new district style guide components and highlighting the school district and individual building communities.
“Over the years, Plainville has developed a positive reputation in the educational community. We are the Plainville Blue Devils, and it wouldn’t be a graduation if we didn’t hear the phrase, Once a Blue Devil, Always a Blue Devil stated at least once in a speech. However; over the years, our brand and related mascots and logos have taken on numerous forms, with some subtle nuances and some more dramatic modifications. With the new style guide and refined designs, our goal is to have a common look, image and representation for who we are at each school and as a district. We are excited to roll out our updated branding, and will continue to upgrade our schools, messaging and all district communications to reflect our newest look. Ultimately, we remain the same Plainville Community Schools, a district that we want all students, families and staff members proud to be a part of,” noted Superintendent LePage.
