Policy Student Achievement

The Board of Education recognizes that the key work of school boards is to establish and promote a clear vision of student achievement as the top priority of the District. The Superintendent will ensure development and implementation of a district-wide program for student achievement and improvement that engages District stakeholders in a continuous improvement planning process that provides for annual review, revision as needed and reports to the community. The program will be reflected in the individual School Learning Plans as well as in the District Strategic Plan.

The Board will, in striving for continuous improvement of student achievement, annually review District and individual school data on school achievement, and will prioritize, allocate and realign resources as necessary.

Resources for Instruction

The Board of Education sees a major responsibility to provide equipment, materials of instruction and such other resources as may be required for the improvement of instruction and student achievement and thus meeting the community's goals.

Professional Development

The Board of Education supports a continuing program of Professional Development involving both the certified and non-certified staff, as well as members of the community at large, to keep them abreast of best practices in curriculum and instruction to enable them to improve student achievement.
