COUNSELING WORKSHOPS:
At various times throughout the school year, the school counselors deliver Counseling Workshops in the classroom to help students with academic, personal/social, and career development.
The workshops for the 6th Grade are:
Intro to School Counselor - Students will learn what the role of the School Counselor is in their building.
Career Matchmaker - Students will complete a career interest inventory using Career Cruising and learn about careers that match their interests.
GROUP COUNSELING:
Various groups will be offered to students to participate in throughout the year. The groups are held for a variety of reasons such as: improving social skills, improving self-esteem, stress management skills, academic success skills, etc.
INDIVIDUAL PLANNING:
Individual planning interviews take place throughout the school year with each 6th Grade student to assist them with establishing future goals and to identify activities, interests, strengths/weaknesses, and likes/dislikes.
ABOUT MRS. FERRUCCI:
Mrs. Ferrucci has more than 20 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and their families. She was a school counselor in Region 10 (Burlington/Harwinton) for most of those years, and a para educator while attending graduate school. She earned her Masters of School Counseling at University of St. Joseph's. This is Mrs. Ferrucci's fourth year at MSP! She is a professional member of the Connecticut School Counselor Association.

Favorite activities: spending time with family, reading, and baking
Favorite foods: Coffee and Tacos!
Favorite animal: Dogs, but loves all animals especially elephants and giraffes
