Board/School District Recognized For Excellence In Leadership And Communication

The Plainville school district has been recognized with several awards from the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), according to Superintendent of Schools, Brian Reas.

The Plainville Board of Education received  the CABE Board Leadership Award” which highlights excellence in Board Leadership / Student Achievement, Professional Development, Policy, Community Relations and Related Organizational Leadership. This awards  program was created in 1998 to recognize excellence in the leadership activities of local boards of education.  This is the 16th consecutive year that the Plainville Board of Education has received this award. The group will be recognized at the 2025 CABE/CAPSS Convention on November 21st.

Plainville Community Schools also received a total of 14 CABE Bonnie B. Carney Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications. In recognition of the good work that is being done on a daily basis, CABE established the Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications in 1975. This year, the Plainville school district was recognized with first place awards for: the Plainville Community Schools District Instagram and Facebook social media accounts - Social Media Category, the Linden Street School Instagram account – Social Media Category, Community Letter newsletter – Newsletter Category, School/Business/ Community Partnership Program E-Newsletter – Newsletter Category, Unplugged: Energy Conservation NewsletterNewsletter  Category, Staff Notes newsletter – Newsletter Category,  the Plainville Community Schools district website -  Website Category, PCS  At A Glance informational handout – Special Project Category, Dual Enrollment Course Promotional Materials – Special Projects Category, Plainville Community Schools Time Capsule / Grad Walk Video – Special Project (AV) Category.  Additionally, the school district was recognized with Honorable Mention awards for: the Linden Street School newsletter – Newsletter Category, the district’s Business Brief  - Newsletter Category,  the Plainville Adult and Continuing Education Program Guide – Course Selection Guide Category, and  the Superintendent’s PCS Pulse Video: Skiing with the MSP Ski Club– Special Projects (AV)  Category.
