Board / School District Recognized For Excellence in Leadership and Communication

The Plainville school district has been recognized with several awards from the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), according to Superintendent of Schools, Steven LePage.
The Plainville Board of Education received CABE's highest leadership recognition; the CABE Board of Distinction Award - Level 2. This award is presented to school districts in Connecticut that meet a comprehensive set of criteria in the following categories: board leadership / student achievement, board member professional development, policy, community relations, and related organizational leadership. According to CABE, this award has been established to appropriately recognize boards of education which are truly exemplary. Only boards which have achieved Level 1 distinction at least twice in the prior four years are eligible to receive the Board of Distinction Award. This is the 11th consecutive year the Plainville Board of Education has received this award. The CABE Board of Distinction Award – Level 2 was presented during the CABE Convention Leadership Awards Reception held on November 15th.
Plainville Community Schools also received several 2019 CABE Bonnie B. Carney Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications. In recognition of the good work that is being done on a daily basis, CABE established the Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications in 1975. This year, Plainville Community Schools’ was honored as an award winner for the “Going Green” eco-friendly essay category, the Plainville Community Schools Business Brief in the Annual Report category, the Plainville Adult and Continuing Education Program guide in the Course Selection Guide category, and the Plainville Plate Cookbook produced by Adult and Continuing Education, in the Special Project category. In addition, the district received honorable mention recognition for the Plainville High School Introduction Video for Incoming Freshmen Class of 2022, (created by Plainville High School student Christopher St. Lawrence) in the Special Project (AV) category.

We are grateful for CABE’s recognition of our dedicated Board of Education and the exceptional outcomes they help to make possible in our schools,” noted Superintendent LePage.
