Wheeler's renovation project continues to progress as planned. The most recent report indicates Phase Two, which is the west wing, should be ready for teachers to unpack and set up by mid-July. Items currently being worked on are the courtyard (outdoor learning space), installing windows in the Phase Two area, working on converting over the boiler room and building the new main office entrance area. Phase Two A, which is the renovation of the art room, cafeteria, library, and gymnasium will be completed over the summer and ready before school begins next fall. The new playground equipment for grades pre-k, k-2, and 3-5 is scheduled to be installed over the summer. In addition, over the summer, the parking lot will be torn up to allow for the installation of new utilities to the building. The asphalt will be replaced, the parking lot area will be expanded, and a new parent drop off area will be built.
