During the month of February, the Louis Toffolon Elementary School Student Council, with the guidance of staff members Ann Bucchi and Susan Fabrizio, sponsored a coin drive to support relief efforts in Haiti. Lauren, secretary of student council said, “As American students we wanted to help even if it's only in a small way. As part of our relief efforts, students raised $568.75 in pennies and silver coins as well. We wanted to be a part of the relief efforts to provide our support to the Haitian community. We are so happy we were able to help in helping the healing some of the hearts in Haiti.” The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) is coordinating the fundraising effort.

NOTE: The grand total amount raised by the Toffolon Student Council, after the photo was taken, was $618.75.

WE'RE READING OUR WAY TO
A WATER SLIDE PARTY!

Toffolon students are joining together to collectively read 500,000 minutes to earn a water slide party!

Our Spring reading program has begun! It is time to keep track of the minutes you read each night. For every 20 minutes you read, have a parent initial your reading log. Your personal goal should be to hand in at least 3 reading sheets by June 1st. In order to reach this goal you need to read an average of 20 minutes a day, 7 days a week. New reading sheets can be found in your classrooms, in the library, and here on the Toffolon website. All students will be invited to the water slide party in June when our goal of 500,000 minutes is met. Be sure to do your part!
