Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett has been appointed a member of the Connecticut Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. Brummett joins legislators, mayors, lobbyists, Board of Education members, and the state’s Office of Policy and Management on the committee. The first meeting in September with fellow committee members focused on the process of determining the financial impact of unfunded mandates to towns and Boards of Education. The commission meets monthly at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.
“I am honored to be appointed to this commission and look forward to working on important issues that impact Boards of Education and Town government such as unfunded mandates,” said Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.
