Fourteen students in Carol Howe’s fifth grade class at Linden Street School recently completed all of their D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) assignments on time as part of their participation in the D.A.R.E Program at Linden, coordinated by Plainville Police Officer CJ Roper. Each student was given a special D.A.R.E. backpack with school supplies.
The D.A.R.E. Program was founded in 1983 and is currently being implemented in school districts across the country and in 43 countries world wide. D.A.R.E. is a police officer led series of classroom lessons that teaches children how to resist peer pressure and live productive lives.
Play2Learn's family fun event, Candy Land Night, was held on March 25, 2009, and included both Linden and Wheeler families.
