Early Childhood Program of Plainville

The Preschool team provides the following interdisciplinary services:

• Birthday Party Screening for children turning three years old.
• Screenings, evaluations and services in the areas of speech and language, social/behavioral, gross/fine motor, adaptive and cognitive skills.
• Providing team consultation to families about early childhood and parenting issues.
• Consulting with area preschool/daycare service providers
• Facilitating transition services to students leaving special education preschool and entering Kindergarten
• Providing individualized services in the preschool classroom, therapy room, home or in a community preschool
• Participating in parent services that include home visits, school meetings and parent education seminars.

Developmental Resource

The Developmental Resource program is offered to elementary students needing intensive special education or readiness services. This program is designed to maximize students' exposure to their non disabled peers. Students receive a range of services that include:

• Providing individualized or small group instruction and support services such as speech and language and occupational/ physical therapy
• Developing individualized behavior programming/training
• Consulting and collaborating with mainstream teachers
