Non-Athletic Extra-Curricular Social Activities

The following rules and regulations apply to all non-athletic extracurricular social activities in the Plainville school system.

- Events must be sponsored by school organizations; i.e. committees of students advised by a faculty member.
- Event expenses are paid by the sponsoring school organization except for chaperone payment.
- The advisor of an activity should be in charge of a guest list for that event. Announcements regarding when students can sign up guests should be made.
- A chaperone and a policeman should be near the ticket selling area to insure that only Plainville students and registered guests gain entry. Students that are not recognized should be asked to identify themselves as Plainville students. This can be confirmed by asking for the student's homeroom number and teacher. A variety of questions can be asked so that non-students cannot be briefed in advance. For example, homeroom number, name of homeroom teacher, etc.
- A sign should be posted on the outside of the entrance door stating that only Plainville students will be admitted.
- The police are working for the advisor of an activity and they should follow reasonable requests. The normal positioning of the police is with one in the ticket selling area and one inside the event at all times.
- Hand stamping of all who enter helps the chaperones to identify students that might have entered without a ticket.
- An activity report form, tickets and money bag must be picked up on the day of the event.
- Clearly mark the amount of money and the name of the organization, and place the money in the school safe.
- The advisor of the event must stay until the last student has left school property.
- School organizations planning fundraisers should check with the Principal and pick up a Fund Raising Request form and guidelines.

Attendance Policy to Non-Athletic Extra-Curricular Social Activities

Only Plainville students and their guests may attend social functions at the school. Guests must be approved by the principal or his/her designee prior to the close of the last school day before the activity.

Once a student and/or guest has entered the school for an activity, they will not be allowed to leave unless they are leaving for the night.

A student who leaves will not be readmitted.

Permitted Guests

● Must attend with the student currently enrolled in the school hosting the activity and leave before or with the student they came with.
