Accidents

Accident and health emergencies such as head injury, situations that require an emergency room, doctor visit, student dismissal to home, or when a visible injury is sustained, shall follow the procedures indicated below:

1. A written accident report should be filed with the school nurse.

2. Parent shall be contacted regarding the accident and/or health emergency.

3. The Superintendent, Director of Finance and Operations or their

designee is responsible for notifying the town insurance company of the accident, 

as necessary.

When an accident or health emergency (as defined above) occurs, the following procedures should be taken:

1. Call nurse

2. Call ambulance, if deemed necessary

3. Notify parent

4. File accident report

First aid may be administered by a teacher, principal or nurse.
