Students Explore Through Library Choice Boards

Showing off a Ride from the FuturePlainville Community Schools’ elementary students, kindergarten through fifth grade, are participating in Library Choice Boards each week as a part of distance learning. Through a “Padlet” crafted by the School Media Specialists, students are exploring activities focused around literacy, informational literacy, Makerspace, wellness, and virtual travel.  Once they have tried something out, they respond to the library media community through a short video on Flipgrid, a comment on their Google Classroom pages, or a picture. Recently, students have toured the PEZ Visitor Center, learned how to create an origami fortune teller, experimented with a hair braiding tutorial, tried a new recipe for apple butter bars and peanut butter and jelly tacos, designed a dog-friendly roller coaster for Quassy Amusement Park, followed a yoga class, tested their Harry Potter knowledge, and more!  Elementary Media Specialists Julianna Cobuzzi, Cyndi Fithian-Giantonio, and Jessica Hartung are impressed with  the students and the way they are interacting with the Library Choice boards!
