The school lunch program shall be an integral part of the total educational program. An attractive, wholesome, well-balanced lunch is essential for the best work from the students. All food services will be offered to students in a manner consistent with state and federal law and regulation.

The lunch period for all full day students will be a minimum of 20 minutes. During the regular school day, meals offered must include foods and drinks that are nutritious and low fat. This shall include, but not be limited to, low-fat milk, one hundred percent natural fruit juices and water at all times when drinks are available for purchase and low-fat dairy products and fresh or dried fruit at all times when food is available for purchase.

The educational aspects of the school lunch program will be the responsibility of each school principal, subject to advice, counsel and direction from the Superintendent of Schools.
