New Member Introductions. Bill Petit introduced new members Daniel Dube, Christina Gilbert-Dutkiewicz and Michael Sileo to the committee. Mr. Petit gave the new members a brief history of the committee.
The committee discussed the June meeting with Town Council. Mr. Petit told the committee that the Town Facilities committee will meet in one week and at least one council member will request a study to see if the high school needs to be moved up on the Long Range Plan. Jim Brown, facilities director for Plainville Community Schools discussed the condition of Plainville High School with the committee. He told the committee he believes that the high school is not in that bad of shape. He said that some systems at Toffolon were as bad if not worse than the high school. The facilities department was able to fix items that were an issue in the last couple of years and he feels they can extend the life of the building by continuing to do repairs and upgrades.
Jay Steeves joined the meeting at 7:08 p.m.

He told the committee that he feels the high school and Toffolon projects are separate and should not be linked for referendum.

The school district is receiving emergency assistance from the state to pay for the
