Bill Petit called the meeting to order at 7:10p.m.

David Jepson gave a review of proposed services and fees breakdown to the committee. The services are broken into four parts. The Building Committee for the project would pay for the last two services.

Mr. Jepson also reviewed the proposed plan with the committee. The committee discussed a preliminary schedule and referendum timing with the Mr. Jepson. Mr. Jepson discussed a November referendum with the committee. A referendum at that time would be too soon after the sewer referendum and would not give the committee enough time. Mr. Jepson suggested the committee consider a March or April 2005 referendum. A referendum in the spring would give the committee time to submit to the state under the new referendum process.

The committee discussed the new referendum procedures. Bill Petit requested that the school attorney meet with some of the committee members to discuss the new referendum process. Ron Pavano requested that Representative Boukus be invited as well.

The Steering Committee discussed a Building committee for the Toffolon project. The committee would like to ask the existing Linden Street School Building Committee members to serve for the next school project. The committee would also like to see a permanent Long Range School Building Committee established. The committee will ask the Board of Education to make these recommendations to the Town Council.

Bill Petit presented the committee with a letter of resignation from Gail Millerick. RON PAVANO MADE A MOTION TO ACCEPT GAIL MILLERICK’S RESIGNATION FROM THE PLAINVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS’ STEERING COMMITTEE. BARBARA WILLARD SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.
A notice of the vacancy will be sent out to the public. The Steering Committee also discussed expanding the committee to 13 members, which would create two additional vacancies.

The committee discussed communications. Tom Wazorko has expressed interest in remaining chair of the Communications Subcommittee. The committee will also continue to communicate with the Town Council. The town council liaison to the committee is Tom Arcari.

RON PAVANO MADE A MOTION TO WORK WITH JCJ ON DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION TO BRING THE TOFFOLON & MSP PROJECT TO REFERRENDUM. BECKY TYRRELL SECONDED THE MOTION. Discussion Followed. MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

Bill Petit opened the floor for citizen comments. There were none.

RON PAVANO MADE A MOTION TO ADJOURN. RICH IRELAND SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
