PLAINVILLE BOARD OF EDUCATION Committee Minutes
Committee: Plainville Community Schools’ Steering Committee

Attendees: Richard Ireland, Jack Mastrianni, Bill Petit, Jay Steeves, Becky Tyrrell, Tom Wazorko, Barbara Willard

Bill Petit called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Alan Schutz reported on the Town Facilities Committee meeting. The Facilities Committee received reports from their engineering consultant that the sewage treatment plant will need to be renovated sooner than originally anticipated. The committee may recommend that the Toffolon and High School projects be delayed for two years in order to accommodate the sewage treatment plant project in the town's long range plan. However, no actions were taken and no recommendations were made by the Town Facilities Committee at their last meeting.
The Steering Committee members discussed the consequences of delaying the Toffolon and High School projects.
Becky Tyrrell joined the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
The committee discussed the sewer plant project and its effect the long range plan and future referendums. Tom Wazorko will attend the next Town Facilities Committee meeting as a representative of the committee. The committee discussed funding the Middle School project through the capital budget.
Alan Schutz will have new enrollment projections for the committee's next meeting. The committee will discuss redistricting at their next meeting.
TOM WAZORKO MADE A MOTION TO ADJOURN. RICH IRELAND SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY. The meeting was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
