Tom Wazorko made a motion to add comments from citizens as the first agenda item. Ron Pavano seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.

Bill Petit opened the floor for comments.

David Brown, 8 Tyler Rd. Mr. Brown stated that he was a former Board of Education Member and served on last year’s Steering Committee. He came to the meeting to keep up with what the committee was doing and to offer his assistance.

Kathy Veronesi reviewed the Program Subcommittee Report from the previous Linden St. School Steering Committee. The committee discussed the program recommendations.

Becky Tyrrell informed the Committee that Sue Greeenbacker will discuss the Kindergarten Task Force at the next meeting. The Committee will also hear from the World Language Task Force at the next meeting.

The Committee discussed timelines. The Committee will review survey results and new projection figures before establishing a timeline. The Board of Education will discuss the Steering Committee’s direction at its next meeting. The Committee will discuss communications to the public once a timeline is established.

The committee agreed in consensus to invite a person involved with the Plymouth Referendum to speak at a meeting.

Tom Wazorko will coordinate with Kathy Binkowski to get new projections from the State and Town Planner.

The Committee discussed the Building Committee. Per Dave Wedge, assuming the ED049 gets legislative approval, we have until June 2003 to locally authorize funding. We have a second year to build. A new Building Committee can be appointed at any time.

The Committee discussed meeting dates. Meetings will be on the third Thursday of every month. The next Linden St. School Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for June 20, 2002 at 7:00 p.m.

Ron Pavano made a motion to adjourn. Jay Steve’s seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m.
