Attendees: Steve Martino, Jack Mastrianni, Ron Pavano, Ken Prigodich, Becky Tyrrell, Barbara Willard, Rodney Wolfel

Also Present: Suzanne Greenbacker, Downes Construction: Paul Wojtowicz and Mike Midgette

Absent: Ray Carroll, Daniel Dube, George Iskra, Mel Masse

Prior to the meeting, Ron Pavano requested a list of all contractors on the project from Downes Construction. Mike Midgette will provide the committee with a complete list prior to the next meeting.

Ken Prigodich called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm.

RON PAVANO MADE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 14, 2004 MEETING. STEVE MARTINO SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

There is no update from JCJ. Bill Mead is on vacation. Suzanne Greenbacker reported that Emily Sledge from JCJ has begun working with her on the FF&E.

Ken Prigodich has the original glass from the Linden Street School Principal’s office. He will make it available and a decision will be made as to where it will be placed.

Mike Midgette from Downes Construction gave an update on the project.
➢ The foundation for the new addition is 90% complete.
➢ The elevator pit slab has been poured.
➢ The underground storm line in the Kindergarten wing has been installed.
➢ Sanitary lines in the Kindergarten wing are completed.
➢ There is a temporary partition in the gym.
➢ The parking lot will open November 8. However, it will be opened November 2 for Election Day.

Paul Wojtowicz from Downes Construction went over the Buyout Report, which is an estimated summary of the Linden Street Project, and contract status.

There are approximately 12 or 13 contracts that have not been issued. The contracts should be completed and mailed shortly.

Paul Wojtowicz, Ron Pavano and Ken Prigodich met with the owner of D’Agostino Construction. They are satisfied that the company is a very safe operation. They also checked with the Department of Labor and the State Department to see if they have had any complaints or violations against them. None have been found. D’Agostino Construction is a non-union company.

Paul Wojtowicz and Mike Midgette were scheduled to meet with Bob Metcalf, the Town’s Financial Director. He was unavailable. They met with Chad in the department.

They also met with Alan Schutz, Business Manager for the Board of Education. Alan Schutz needs a copy of the contract with BVH Integrated Services.

George Iskra was not available to discuss the results of the Technology Sub-Committee meeting.

There will be another Technology Sub-Committee meeting scheduled. No date was set. Paul Wojtowicz and Mike Midgette from Downes would like to be invited. Ron Pavano would like the Sub-Committee meetings to have a separate agenda and be sent to the Building Committee.

JACK MASTRIANNI MADE A MOTION TO PAY INDEPENDENT MATERIALS TESTING, INC. FOR INVOICE #6729-D $1,920.00 AND #6729-C $1,581.00 DATED OCTOBER 18, 2004. BECKY TYRRELL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

JACK MASTRIANNI MADE A MOTION TO PAY DOWNES CONSTRUCTION FOR INVOICE #25010068001 $3,158. 11 DATED OCTOBER 25, 2004. STEVE MARTINO SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

BARBARA WILLARD MADE A MOTION TO PAY COLOSSALE CONCRETE $15,194. 00 AND $31, 690. 00 (CHANGE ORDERS). JACK MASTRIANNI SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

The committee will reschedule the November 11, 2004 meeting. The committee cannot meet on a legal holiday. There will most likely only be one meeting in November.
