Committee: Linden St. School Building Committee Date: May 8, 2003 Time: 6:40 p.m. Attendees: Mel Masse, Jack Mastrianni, Ron Pavano, Ken Prigodich, Jay Steeves, Becky Tyrrell, Barbara Willard, Rodney Wolfel Absent: John Hamm, Ray Carroll, George Iskra Also Present: Suzanne Greenbacker, William Petit Meeting was called to order by Ken Prigodich at 6:40 p.m. The committee discussed the current status of the Linden St. School Project. Ken Prigodich discussed a citizen's request for the committee to consider concrete plank construction. Jeter Cook and Jepson investigated this method of construction and reported that it is not intended for school construction and would prove to be cost prohibitive. Ken Prigodich also told the committee that there are no plans for the military to move out of the old Trask School and there are no plans for the town to purchase the building for a fourth elementary school. The Steering Communications Subcommittee updated the committee on presentations. There will be an open forum June 3 at 7:00 p.m. The Communications Subcommittee will also be taping a round table discussion to be aired on Nutmeg TV and Jack Mastrianni is working on footage that compares the current Linden St. School conditions to the proposed plan. The committee also discussed presentation materials and the graph of the town bonding. The four page flyer created by the Steering Communications Subcommittee will be used by the town for their mailings with the referendum question in place of one of the paragraphs. The referendum is scheduled for June 10, 2003 and will be held from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the regular polling locations. RON PAVANO MADE A MOTION TO ADJOURN. MEL MASSE SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
