Board / School District Recognized For Excellence In Leadership And Communication
The Plainville school district has been recognized with several awards from the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education (CABE), according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.
The Plainville Board of Education received CABE's highest leadership recognition; the CABE Board of Distinction Award - Level 2. This award is presented to school districts in Connecticut that meet a comprehensive set of criteria in the following categories: board leadership / student achievement, board member professional development, policy, community relations, and related organizational leadership. According to CABE, this award has been established to appropriately recognize boards of education which are truly exemplary. Only boards which have achieved Level 1 distinction at least twice in the prior four years are eligible to receive the Board of Distinction Award. This is the eighth consecutive year the Plainville Board of Education has received this award. The CABE Board of Distinction Award â€" Level 2 will be presented during the CABE Convention Leadership Awards Reception on November 18th.
"The Board of Education is truly dedicated to the children of Plainville Community Schools. I am sincerely appreciative of all they do and the CABE acknowledgement is a testament to their ongoing support," commented Dr. Brummett.
Plainville Community Schools also received four 2016 CABE Excellence in Educational Communications Awards. In recognition of the good work that is being done on a daily basis, CABE established the Awards of Excellence for Educational Communications in 1975. This year, Plainville Community Schoolsâ€™ awards include: Parent Handbook Category: Award Winner â€" Middle School of Plainville Student / Parent Handbook, Computer Generated Projects Category: Honorable Mention â€" 2015-16 Quick Facts Informational Bookmark, Website Category: Honorable Mention â€" Plainville Community Schools website, and Going Green Category: Honorable Mention â€" Going Green essay.
