School District Expands Communication Through Social Media
Plainville Community Schools will expand communication this fall, officially adding social media to the district's current channels of communication, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.
During the previous school year the district adopted a Social Media Policy and many faculty members and administrators across the district are sharing classroom and building level information through a variety of social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. Beginning this fall, the district's central office administration will also use Twitter to communicate district related information using the handle @PlvComSchools, and invite parents and community members to "follow" the district's posts for easy access to important information and district highlights throughout the year. Future social media plans may include a Plainville Community Schools' Facebook page to also expand communication efforts with district stakeholders.
"Our expanded use of communication via Twitter will be kicked off during our upcoming Convocation meeting with faculty members and administration on August 29. I am very excited about providing parents and community members with an additional avenue to learn about important district events and updates," said Brummett.
