PHS Homecoming Weekend To Feature Varsity Football Game At Norton Park

The Plainville High School Homecoming weekend will feature a "throw back" varsity football game to be played at Norton Park, according to Director of Activities and Athletics, Amy Labas. The game, in which the Blue Devils will face Enrico Fermi High School, will kick off at 6:30 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015, at Norton Park. A Homecoming Parade will be held at the park prior to the game at 5:30 PM. Themed floats designed by each of the high school classes will be featured during the parade, including Freshmen " "Star Wars," Sophomores " "Super Mario Brothers," Juniors " "Grease," and Seniors " "Mardi Gras." During half time, the Homecoming King, Queen and members of the Homecoming Court will be announced. In addition, half time will feature a scrimmage by the Plainville Colts football teams, and members of the Plainville Sports Hall of Fame will be honored throughout the game. The Plainville Athletic Backers Club will also be selling refreshments throughout the event.

There will be no admission to the homecoming game event at Norton Park, but non-perishable items will be collected for the Plainville Community Food Pantry. Those who plan to attend should bring their own seating.

"This will be a great community event and I am excited to see everyone come out to support our school while helping the Plainville Food Pantry," said Labas.
