Substitute Teachers Needed For 2014-15 School Year
The Plainville school district is currently seeking substitute teachers for the remainder of the 2014-15 school year, according to Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Maureen Brummett.
Assignments for substitute teachers are available at all grade levels and all subject areas. A bachelor's degree is required. Substitute teachers must be able to follow instructions and lesson plans left by the teacher, and must be able to work with students with special education needs. Additional requirements for the position include excellent communication skills, reliability and a positive attitude. Plainville Community Schools uses Aesop, an automated substitute service that allows you to search and accept/decline substitute positions by school. Substitute compensation rate is $85.00 per day.
To apply for a substitute position, complete and submit an online application accessed through the school district's website, www.plainvilleschools.org (click on "Employment Opportunities"). Attach transcripts indicating a bachelor's degree has been completed, and attach a minimum of one signed current letter of recommendation. (Once hired, fingerprints and DCF information must be submitted for a national background check).
"The Plainville school district is a community of extraordinary learners and teachers; we are looking for positive, skilled professionals to work as substitutes in our schools," said Brummett.
