The Middle School of Plainville will be recognized by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) for Exemplary School Climate. The award will be presented at the Middle School on April 22.
According to CAS, as part of the award selection process, schools were asked to complete a self-assessment that includes indicators in the following categories: 1. Safe and healthy environment, 2. Welcoming environment to students and visitors, 3. Stakeholder involvement in planning and decision making, 4. Parent community and student involvement in the school, and 5. Active participation in a variety of programs. Schools that met the initial requirements then received a site visit to verify and validate the assessment information. Schools found to have exemplary school climate practices will be awarded a CAS certificate, a three-year exemplary practices designation, and recognition on the CAS website.
"I am proud of the school climate we have created at MSP and pleased that we are receiving the CAS Exemplary School Climate recognition," said Middle School of Plainville Dean of Students, Thomas Laudadio.
We have all worked very diligently to create a welcoming, supportive, positive learning environment at MSP. Receiving this award is immensely satisfying after all our hard work. MSP is truly a Great Place to Learn!" noted Middle School of Plainville Principal, Matthew Guarino.
