Aimee Roberts Named Middle School Of Plainville Assistant Principal
Aimee Roberts, currently a science teacher and team leader at the Middle School of Plainville has been named Assistant Principal of the Middle School. Roberts will fill a vacancy left by former Middle School Assistant Principal Traci Mayette.
Roberts has held a number of positions in both the public and private sector. She has served as an eighth grade science teacher at the Middle School of Plainville since 2005 and held the position of eighth grade team leader. In addition, Roberts has worked on the design of the eighth grade science curriculum and has developed curriculum, lessons, and staff assignments as a member of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) Committee. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from The American University and a master of science degree from Central Connecticut State University. In addition, Roberts has completed the requirements for administrator certification and is currently pursuing a sixth year certificate at the University of Bridgeport.
Roberts was named the candidate of choice at a special Board of Education meeting held on August 13.
"I am very happy that Ms. Roberts has agreed to accept the assistant principal position. She has been an outstanding member of the MSP faculty for many years. I have every confidence that she will now be an outstanding member of the administrative team," said Middle School of Plainville Principal, Matthew Guarino.
"We are very fortunate in Plainville to have strong educational leaders like Aimee Roberts within our faculty. Building leadership capacity in our teachers allows us to maintain our positive momentum through changes in administration. Aimee is an excellent choice and a great fit for the Middle School," stated Superintendent of Schools, Jeffrey Kitching.
Roberts assumed the Assistant Principal position at the Middle School of Plainville on August 14, 2012.
