Plainville High School To Host First Annual Curriculum And Activities Showcase
Plainville High School will host the first annual Curriculum and Activities Showcase on November 17, 2011 at 6:30 PM, according to Principal, Steven LePage.
The event will provide the Plainville community with an interactive opportunity to experience some of the outstanding academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities for students at Plainville High School. The program will begin in the school's auditorium with an introduction and welcome by high school administration. From there, attendees will receive an activities map directing them to a wide variety of demonstrations by administrators, department leaders, teachers, and students throughout the building. High school clubs, organizations and teams will be represented by advisors, coaches and members of the co-curricular organizations to share opportunities which develop the whole student inside and outside of the classroom. In addition, the program will include an activity visit based scavenger hunt, a feedback survey and a raffle. Refreshments will be provided by the high school's Culinary Arts program.
"For eighth grade students and parents, this event will provide a comprehensive understanding of what to expect in the important transition to Plainville High School. Our teachers have prepared impressive displays, musical and artistic performances, lab activities, presentations, demonstrations of technology applications, and most importantly, examples of the student engagement that occurs at PHS every day. We continue to raise the bar at PHS and want incoming eighth graders and members of the community to get excited about the opportunities we offer. We believe that all students, parents and community guests will be impressed by our learning community and the comprehensive programs and services," said Plainville High School Principal, Steven LePage.
