Plainville Community Schools Moves To SchoolMessenger Automated Communication System
Plainville Community Schools will soon be implementing SchoolMessenger, a new automated communication and messaging service from Reliance Communications, Inc. The new communication system replaces the Connect-ED system, implemented in 2008 to further enhance communication with parents, faculty and staff.
SchoolMessenger, a fully hosted software as a service (SaaS) notification platform, will be implemented in September, 2011, at a substantial cost savings to the school district. The messaging system allows school administrators to schedule, send and track personalized messages to hundreds of parents and staff members simultaneously, ensuring that important information is received in a timely manner.
The SchoolMessenger system features enable school officials to communicate via voicemail, SMS text, email with attachments, and more. The automated messaging system facilitates communication regarding everything from district level emergencies to event notifications, and early school dismissal announcements.
"SchoolMessenger is a very user friendly system. It works well with our student information system to provide up-to-the-minute data and it will allow us to attach documents to outgoing messages. It provides many features that we currently do not have at almost half the cost," said Director of Finance and Operations, Richard Carmelich.
