Solar Panel Information Available On District Website
Solar panel information for three of Plainville's schools is now available via a link on the school district's website. Linden and Toffolon elementary schools, as well as Plainville High School incorporated solar panel technology into their respective building renovations, as one of several cost containing efforts.
The solar panel information link, http://www.plainvilleschools.org/solar.html, allows the public to view live information on the solar panels at each school as well as information on the solar panel projects. Specific information available includes an overview of solar power, how a solar power roof works, and energy production, as well as an overview of the benefits of solar technology. Each school's real time energy production summary is also available.
The solar panel information may also be accessed by visiting the Plainville Community Schools website (www.plainvilleschools.org), and clicking on the Parents & Community tab, then selecting Building Solar Panel Information.
"We are excited to give students and the community access to this information. We hope that students will see the educational value and that the community will gain first- hand knowledge of our cost containment efforts through the operation of these solar panels," said Plainville Community Schools Director of Finance and Operations, Richard Carmelich.
