The Plainville Community Schools Facilities Department was recently recognized as part of National Healthy Schools Day, according to Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Kathleen Binkowski.
At the April 11, 2011, Board of Education meeting, Facilities Director Steven Busel accepted a plaque honoring the work of the school district's Facilities Department as part of National Healthy Schools Day, celebrated on April 11 across the nation. National Healthy Schools Day activities and recognition events were held throughout the United States to promote and highlight the importance of clean indoor air quality in schools. Members of the Plainville Community Schools Facilities Department were honored for their hard work, as a whole, in keeping the school district safe and healthy, and the environment a positive one for teaching and learning.
"Kudos to the Facilities Department staff members who do an exceptional job of keeping our buildings clean, safe, and environmentally friendly," said Director of Finance and Operations, Richard Carmelich.
