Elizabeth Norton Trust Grant Supports Adult Education
The Elizabeth Norton Trust Fund Board has issued a $900.00 grant to Plainville Adult and Continuing Education. Funds will make possible the purchase of thirteen 30-minute math videos from the GED Connection syndicated series, created by Kentucky Educational Television. The following videos will be shown as an extension of the current curriculum in GED Preparation classes: Passing the GED Math Test, Number Sense, Problem Solving, Decimals, Fractions, Ratio, Proportion, and Percent, Measurement, Formulas, Geometry, Data Analysis, Statistics and Probability, Introduction to Algebra, and Special Topics in Algebra and Geometry.
Jill O'Brien, Coordinator of Plainville Adult and Continuing Education said, "Thanks to this notable grant from the Elizabeth Norton Trust Fund Board, students will discover interesting, documentary style videos that will fortify their educational goals in mastering specific math applications for the GED exam."
Free GED-Preparation classes are currently offered days (including free childcare) and evenings, covering the five sections of the test: Writing, Social Studies, Science, Reading and Math. For registration information, please call the Office of Adult and Continuing Education: (860)793-3209. All inquiries are confidential.
