Plainville DECA Chapter Excels at State Conference
On March 10, 2009, 47 Plainville High School DECA students competed against over 1,000 state-wide members at the State Career Development Conference held at the Aqua Turf in Southington, Connecticut. Plainville's DECA students competed in a variety of marketing events, consisting of individual and team decision-making components as well as a number of marketing research projects. "The conference was a tremendous learning experience for DECA members to interact and network in a real business and marketing environment," said students Patrycja Jacewicz and Natalia Konieczkowski.
The Plainville High School DECA Chapter had seven state winners at the conference. Patrycja Jacewicz and Natalia Konieczkowski placed first in the Retail Marketing written team event. In addition, John Kunda and Stephen Underwood placed third in the Financial Analysis team event as well as Elizabeth Moriarty in the Accounting application series event.
