Plainville Community Schools to Launch Automated Communication System
Plainville Community Schools will launch the Connect-ED® automated messaging service from The NTI Group, Inc., (NTI) to further enhance communication with parents, faculty and staff. Connect-ED, an Internet-based telephone and email communication system, will be implemented in January. The messaging system allows school administrators to schedule, send and track personalized messages to hundreds of parents and staff members simultaneously, ensuring that important information is received in a timely manner.
Program features also enable school officials to use the Connect-ED system to periodically communicate with parents on issues such as student attendance, state testing, parent-teacher meetings, and most importantly, in the event of a school or district level emergency. "With the Connect-ED service, administrators have a powerful tool for mass communication without having to purchase new computers, software and telephone lines," said Robin Richards, NTI’s CEO. The district can also create an unlimited number of subgroups to target messaging for individual classes, activities, bus routes, sports teams, and more.
"Effective communication with parents and staff is essential. We are continually seeking ways to enhance district communication and help parents to stay engaged in the education process," said Kathleen Binkowski, Superintendent.“With Connect-ED, we now have a multi-faceted communication system that allows us to quickly and efficiently share important information."
