Charles Named Superintendent for Westbrook, CT School System
Patricia Charles, Assistant Superintendent of Plainville Community Schools, has been named Superintendent of Schools for the Westbrook, Connecticut school district. The Westbrook Board of Education voted June 1st to approve the selection of Charles for the Superintendent post.
Charles has served as Assistant Superintendent in the Plainville, Connecticut school district since 2002. Prior to serving as Assistant Superintendent in Plainville, Charles was employed with the West Hartford and Middletown, Connecticut school systems. Charles will continue in her current position as Assistant Superintendent in Plainville until June 30th, and is slated to begin in Westbrook later in the summer.
"Plainville Community Schools has provided me with a wealth of valuable experience. I am grateful for all I that have learned from the excellent educators here. Dr. Binkowski’s leadership has been a tremendous model. I will miss my Plainville colleagues, but will carry with me all that they have taught me. I am excited to receive the Westbrook Board's endorsement and look forward to beginning our work together," stated Charles.
