Trimester Three Unit of Study: Colonization

 Essential Understandings: Colonization 1.  When native cultures and immigrant cultures come together, conflict, cooperation and/or assimilation may occur.
2. Merging cultures create social, political and economic changes.
3. People’s belief’s and values have and effect on the way in which they accept and interact with others and their environments.
4. Cultures develop value systems which influence the way in which they interact with other communities and governments.
5. People immigrate for a variety of social, political, and economic reasons.
6.  Economic, geographical, and political factors influence interaction between individuals, communities and governments.
7.  Environmental resources influence economic and physical growth of a community.
8. Geographic location influences lifestyle and interaction with others.
9. Trade creates interdependent relationships.
