  • The outer core is made up of hot liquid metal
  • The inner core is made up of solid metal
  • The five properties of a mineral determine how it is used.
  • The three types of rock
  • The cycle of a rock.
2. The student will know . . .
  • The effect of glaciers on the earth
  • The effect of the movement of water on the earth’s surface
  • The effect of wind on the earth’s surface
  • The impact of deforestation and erosion on the earth’s surface.
  • The impact of overfarming and erosion on the earth’s surface.
  • That people can help prevent erosion by planting trees and crops.
  • The effect of earthquakes on the earth surface.
  • The effect of volcanoes on the earth’s surface.

  • That there are a variety of landforms
  • That water is the dominant feature on the earth’s surface
  • That each regions has its own dominant landforms
