Build a Neighborhood
My Neighborhood: Online story, will read itself to students
 KidPix Activities Create Rule Posters, illustrating the rules of the school community, mount on construction paper, laminate, and hang up around the school.

Create Community Helpers Slideshow: Teachers take pictures of various community helpers, and insert into KidPix documents. (Note: If taking field trip around town, students can take the pictures.) Students add text to documents telling about that community helper. As a class, assemble into a slideshow to share with another class.

 Word Processing Activities Create Good Citzen Picture Posters: In groups of 2 or 3 use digital cameras to take pictures illustrating good citizenship. With teacher's help insert pictures into WP document. Add text to tell what makes a good citizen. (Ex: Picture of child's hand placing trash in the trash can, with the added caption, "Good citizens put trash in the trash can.")
