Introduction

Extreme Generation Television is preparing to launch a new Biography series in the spring. They are looking for some scripts and storyboards that can be made into pilot shows for the new spring season. You have just read a biography about someone you think would interest many viewers. The producers of the new series have agreed to look at your storyboard and consider it for one of the season previews. They have informed you that as many as 250 other writers are also competing to have their scripts turned into biography shows but all entries will be reviewed and you will be compensated for your work. Only six biographies will be produced. Your storyboard will not only have to be accurate but also creative.

The producers, Mr. Wachtelhausen and Ms. Cancellieri, have asked you to create your storyboard using HyperStudio. Since you know the producers are very knowledgeable and influential, you inform them that you will use any advice they give and you will have the storyboard ready to present in about 3 weeks.

Before beginning any new job it is wise to review the project timeline so that you meet all the deadlines.

 

The Task

You must select and then read a biography about a person, gather information, and present the information in HyperStudio.

Before beginning to create any television script or storyboard, a good writer knows that you must collect background information on the subject. The steps below are necessary for your storyboard to be considered as a possible pilot biography television show.

  1. Select a biography
  2. Have the producers (Mr. Wachtelhausen or Mrs. Cancellieri) approve your selection
  3. Read the book by the due date outlined in the Project Timeline
  4. Select information from the book that would be interesting and answer the key questions.
  5. Select some pictures, objects to photograph, sounds, or video that will make the program interesting
  6. Use the links in the reference section to gather more data ( information, pictures, etc.) for your program.
